Thursday Division 3 South West 2nd position
Saturday Division 3 South 4th position
Division 4 South 7th position
Division 6 Central South 10th position
Please note the following dates:
Singles Round 1 Sunday 6 December 2020 10 am
Pairs Round 1 Sunday 13 December 2020 10 am
Fours Round 1 Sunday 17 January 2021 10 am
Training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Club member John Wells will be providing special coaching on Tuesdays at 4.00 pm. Practice does make perfect. We can’t emphasise how important regular training will bring more success to our Club and hopefully elevate our positions on the pennant table.
Melbourne Cup Lunch was attended by approximately 46 members, partners and friends. It was a very successful event, a lovely lunch, lots of winners and an impressive set up on the day. Many thanks to those who contributed their time and effort. We hope to continue this event every year.
Unfortunately this was cancelled due to Covid. However, we hope to reschedule this in the New Year – date to be advised.
Xmas Show – Saturday 12 December
Xmas Medley – Saturday 19 December – We need more teams to make this event a
real success. Club members are asked to put in a team as soon as possible. Put
out your feelers to other Clubs, family members, Barefoot Bowlers. It would be
appreciated if you could support your Club.
Friday night draw is back on
The jackpot is now $1,700. As it is getting closer to Xmas, this is a great opportunity to catch up with friends and family and have a drink. Hams will be offered as prizes in our regular raffle from Friday 11 December. Our Xmas raffle will be on sale for all members as well. We would love to see club members come along and enjoy themselves. This is a night where what you put in could reap a nice reward.
Just a few jokes from one of our resident Bowlers – not too hard to guess who. “A man went into a farm and saw a three legged pig. What’s the story with the three legged pig he asked. The farmer replied, that’s a very special and loved pig. It jumped into the dam and saved my two kids from drowning and he also raced into a burning barn and saved the livestock and my other child from perishing.
How come it has only got three legs asked the traveller. Well you can hardly eat a special pig like him all at once, replied the farmer.”
A man driving along a country road was overtaken by a three legged chicken. The faster he drove the faster the chicken ran in front of him. The chicken raced into a farm yard, and the man drove in behind him and spoke to the farmer.
How come you have a three legged chicken he asked the farmer, who replied. “Me, the missus and son all like a chicken leg, so I bred a three legged chicken. How does it taste, asked the stranger. I don’t know replied the farmer. I haven’t been able to catch the bloody thing.”
I know these are pretty tame, but I am sure our Joker has lots more jokes to share.
As you would all be aware, Covid restrictions are still in place at the Club. It would be appreciated if all members could continue to abide by these. We thank you all for being vigilant by supporting the club to keep us all safe. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to any of our Board members.
Please enjoy your last few games before Xmas. Have a fantastic break with your Families and friends and come back refreshed for a brighter New Year.
